Conversion for GC Rieber Shipping (UK)
In addition to the marine newbuilding market, Aeron also have an impresive increase in the after sales and conversion of marine systems. One of the specialities is conversions of offshore and seismic vessels. The conversions have been increase of cooling capacities where Aeron has developed a special new solution, to change of equipment and upgrading of software.
At the moment Aeron has a large conversion of the HVAC systems for the CGG Laurentian. The owner is Rieber Shipping UK and the conversion is taking place in Rotherdam in the Netherlands.
The Project Manager from Aeron is Mr. Jan Kåre Hansen. He tells us that Aeron is taking care of all the different subjects related to the work. 5-7 engineers and workers have been at the ship for 3 weeks now. "We hope to be able to start the commissioning work in week 16, so we are able to finish the work within 4-5 weeks, Mr. Jan Kåre Hansen explains.
Aeron has not been marketing this kind of work almost at all, it is only the rumour that brings in so much work that they are able to handle. Due to our large volume of newbuildings and international activities, we have access to the right equipment at the right prices and the possibilities is enormous.
We continue to employ new skilled service engineers, but we don't want to grow too fast, Mr. Hansen explains. Aeron wants to be identified with high quality and good serice, and therefore the growth much be under control. Therefore we are doing this step by step, and we have got a very good rumour and reply from the market so far.
